Evaluation of long-term sagittal lip changes using Burstone line: Pilot Study
نویسندگان
چکیده
Objective
Lip position has become one of the most important soft tissue analyses as it influences occlusion, tooth stability and facial aesthetic. Hence, objective this study was to compare short-term long-term sagittal lip positions/changes using Burstone line (B-line).

 Methods
The sample consisted 18 Caucasoid females only (14 extractions, 4 non-extractions) who were successfully treated with edgewise appliances. All patients evaluated before treatment (T1),at end active (T2), at a follow-up observation (T3). mean age commencement 13.2 years range 10.5-19 years.
linear distance between tip lips B-line measured.
 Results
T1-T2 time intervals showed upper underwent change 1.272 mm relative (-32.8%) which statistically significant. lower 1.549 (-22.2%), but these changes not significant.
protrusion continued reduce during long term follow up period. slight (-9.2%), whereas demonstrated greater (-53.8%).
 Conclusion
Using B-line, positions more retrusive on records for both extraction non-extraction cases, their values very different from normal untreated cases. Although differences significant, post T1-T2, while significant T1-T2.

We assessed the feasibility of using a waist-mounted, wireless triaxial accelerometer (TA) to monitor human movements in an unsupervised home setting to detect changes in functional status. A pilot study was carried out with six healthy subjects aged 80-86 years. The subjects wore a TA unit every day for two to three months. Each morning they carried out a short routine of directed movements th...
